An architect request for proposal (RFP) is a procurement document issued by an organization looking for the right firm to provide architectural services. The RFP is essentially a questionnaire that outlines an architectural project and includes a list of requirements and questions.
In the architectural fee proposal, the architect highlights the scope of work they are going to do when they undertake the project of the client and how much the cost of the services will be. This also includes other terms and conditions and the project timeline in which the architect proposes to finish the job.
An architectural letter proposal doesnt contain any designs or contracts those come after the client has decided to move ahead. A letter proposal is mainly to communicate to the client your basic understanding of a project and the way you would go about completing the scope of work.
Deduct Alternates are used for Design/Bid/Build project delivery. Intended to be used to address fluctuating market conditions to allow the construction budget to. be met (and contract to be awarded) NOT a tool for price shopping or identifying cost for future work.
The main difference is the purpose. An RFQ is sent when you know exactly what product/service you want, and you really only need to know the price. An RFP is sent when its more complicated and you want to evaluate many factors besides price before making a decision.
What does an RFP include? An RFP generally includes background on the issuing organization and its lines of business (LOBs), a set of specifications that describe the sought-after solution and evaluation criteria that disclose how proposals will be graded.
Architects Supplemental Information (ASI) An ASI is a form used by an architect to specify additional instructions and interpretations relating to a set of architectural plans. An ASI is also issued to order minor changes in the architectural work to be accomplished, changes that may vary from the original plans.
