I have conducted employee surveys many many times really I was responsible for a global employee survey in a large IT company Ive done employ surveys as as a consultant I wrote two books about employees of a so so that was a big topic for me and over the course of my career I come to insight that most employees surveys dont really work and that really puzzled me why is that because the idea was clear just ask the people regularly how they feel and how they perceive the organization and a lot of things look at the results and come up with ways to improve I mean thats a simple idea and its absolutely reasonable but but for some reasons most employee surveys really dont work and that led me to very essentially inside and and I would put this as a kind of golden rule for employee surveys really a golden rule and the golden rule is if something whatever it is if something is not important before the survey it will not be important after the survey independent from the results that migh

A survey response rate of 50% or higher should be considered excellent in most circumstances. A high response rate is likely driven by high levels of motivation to complete the survey, or a strong personal relationship between business and customer. Survey response rates in the 5% to 30% range are far more typical.
Academia tells us that 30 seems to be an ideal sample size for the most comprehensive view of an issue, but studies with as few as 10 participants can yield fruitful and applicable results (recruiting excellence is even more important here!).
A sample size of 30 is fairly common across statistics. A sample size of 30 often increases the confidence interval of your population data set enough to warrant assertions against your findings.4 The higher your sample size, the more likely the sample will be representative of your population set.
Follow the survey better: Numbered surveys are easier to follow and answer for respondents. This especially holds true for long surveys that can be taken over a longer duration due to the high number of questions in them.
To edit question numbering: Click the Design Survey tab. In the left sidebar, click OPTIONS. Click Question Numbers. Click the toggle to the right of Show Question Numbers to turn numbering on and off. Choose from the following numbering options:
Many statisticians concur that a sample size of 100 is the minimum you need for meaningful results. If your population is smaller than that, you should aim to survey all of the members. The same source states that the maximum number of respondents should be 10% of your population, but it should not exceed 1000.
To calculate the number of people you need to invite to take your survey based on your expected response rate, use the following equation: Respondents needed. Take the number of people you need to answer your survey. Response rate. Divide by the expected response rate (use 25 for 25%, if you use .25 skip step 3) x 100.
As a very rough rule of thumb, 200 responses will provide fairly good survey accuracy under most assumptions and parameters of a survey project. 100 responses are probably needed even for marginally acceptable accuracy.
