this video is just a short extract from the entire course if you wish to see all of the videos from this series at higher quality and in far larger screen size head over to ifskills.com inevitably there will be times when you need to remove a field from a report either because it has now become superfluous or it was placed there by accident so if i no longer want the town city field on my report i can select that field within the detail section and press delete on the keyboard and the field will disappear you have to be very careful that you select the field within the detail section and not the label in the page header for example if i were to select the surname label only in the page header and press delete only the label goes the data is still there luckily there is an undo feature in crystal reports should i wish to bring that heading back

To remove a single element from the form, hover over it and select the trashcan icon in the top-right of that field, or drag and drop it from your form to the left panel. To remove all fields from your form, use the Remove All or Add All buttons in the left panel.
On the Reports tab, click New Report. Select Select Report Types to Hide. The green check mark next to a report means its visible to everyone. To hide the report type, click the check mark to change it to an X.
Set a default value In the Navigation Pane, right-click the table that you want to change, and then click Design View. Select the field that you want to change. On the General tab, type a value in the Default Value property box. Save your changes.
Double-click the field on the layout, then choose a field name in the Specify Field dialog box. Click the field on the layout, then press Backspace or Delete.
From the Fields Available for Reports section, click Edit Layout. Drag and drop the missing fields from the Field Definition Fields section, then click Save. You can also add additional fields via lookup on your primary or secondary object by clicking Add fields via lookup.
Once you create a Custom Report Type and save it, there is no way to go in and edit it. This means that if you do not originally choose the correct fields or related list fields, you have no way of updating the Custom Report Type to include them. Instead, you must delete the Report Type and start from scratch.
Setup Customize Leads Page Layout Edit removes the fields from the Detail page layout.
Click the field on the layout, then press Backspace or Delete.
