VFX (visual effects) and SFX (sound effects) should be written in your script in all caps. And that means any special sound (FOOTSTEPS, BANG, FLASH, etc.). These should be written in the Action text.

Any speech from a character who is not visible should be designated as either off-screen or voice-over. Such designation is abbreviated as “O.S.” or “V.O.” written in ALL CAPS as an extension to the character cue.
Scene Numbers Scene numbers are a production-based screenplay element for the shooting script. They are used for scheduling shoot days, casting needs, editing, and many other elements in pre-production, production, and post-production. There is no use for them in a spec script.
