Vinegar. When diluted with water, a mild acid like vinegar works well to remove sticker residue. Soak a dishrag in the solution, then wrap the cloth around the object, leaving the vinegar to perform its magic for a few minutes. Remove the cloth, and you should find that the glue has become considerably less sticky.
Try soaking and wiping off with hot soapy water first if you think the label will remove easily. Vinegar or nail polish remover work better for more stubborn stains. Wet a rag with the solution youve chosen and apply it to the glue residue area. Let it soak in for 15 minutes.
Nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol Soak a rag, paper towel, or cotton ball in rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, lighter fluid, or yes, even cheap vodka. Let it sit on the face of the labels for at least 15 minutes for an easy way to remove labels.
Rubbing Alcohol or Vodka If you want to know how to get sticker residue off plastic, wood, or glass, rubbing alcohol is an effective solvent thats safe for most surfaces. Vodka is a good substitute. Wet a paper towel or clean rag with rubbing alcohol, and rub the residue to lift it off.
Apply a small amount of baby oil to the sticker residue and let it sit for 20 minutes. Soak a cotton ball or rag with baby oil and use it to gently rub the surface until the residue is gone. Wipe the surface with a clean cloth or paper towel.
Begin by rubbing either mineral oil, baby oil or olive oil onto the residue with a cloth. Allow the oil to soak into the label - between five and 10 minutes should do the trick. Then, using the cloth, wipe across the residue to start removing it. Repeat this process for a second time.
One of the key ways to remove sticker residue is by soaking a paper towel in warm white wine vinegar or using room temperature rubbing alcohol, you can then lay the sticker over the residue for a couple of minutes. You do this to soften up the residue, making it easier to scrub away.
Instructions Fill your sink or a large bowl with hot water. Add 1-2 tablespoons dish soap and 1 cup of white vinegar. Submerge jars in water and let them soak for 20-30 minutes. Remove jars from water and easily remove labels.
Glass bottles Boil water (preferably in a kettle). As the water is heating up, fill the bottle with warm water from the tap. Empty the bottle into the sink. The heat from the water should loosen the labels adhesive, allowing you to pull off the label, being careful not to tear it. Pour out the hot water.
