The hospital will provide plenty of blankets to keep your baby warm, but there are some other must-haves that you should pack ahead of time. Car Seat. Blankets And Swaddles. Clothes To Wear Home. Hat And Socks. Burp Cloths. Nursing Pillow. Bottles And Formula. Diapers.
Please do not bring in powdered formula or the larger bottles of RTF, as we do not have facilities for their safe storage or preparation, or facilities for sterilising reusable teats and bottles. How much will my baby need? Your baby will take small feeds to begin with, around 20 30mls at each feed.
If you choose to bottle feed you will need to bring enough pre-packed bottles of a readymade newborn formula into hospital with you to last for your stay. We recommend that you purchase at least one starter pack of first infant milk containing 6 bottles and 6 teats.
Youll want your hairbrush, regular or dry shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, deodorant, lip balm, extra hair ties and face wipes (Babylist parents recommend these in case youre not up to showering right away). Remember extra contacts and/or glasses, if you wear them. Your birth plan.
A Minimalist Hospital Bag Check-list You. Birth Plan. Baby. Soft Hat. Partner. (2) outfits. Important Note: take absolutely everything from your room diapers, those blue disposable pads, giant pads for you, mesh underwear, bulb syringe, napkins, chopsticks seriously whatever is there.
If you intend to formula feed, you need to bring in your own milk. Please note there will be NO facilities for preparing formula milk or sterilising equipment. We no longer provide pre-sterilised bottles and teats.
2. We advise you to bring in one or two starter packs of formula that contains 6 x 70ml bottles and 6 x disposable teats. If these are unavailable, please bring in small 70ml bottles or the 200ml bottle/cartons to use.
If you have made the decision to formula feed then you will need to bring in a first milk starter pack. These can be purchased from most supermarkets and include six ready to feed bottles with teats. You will need to use approximately 8 bottles in 24 hours.
