hi this is Liam from inside Markham guru and today were going to be looking at how to remove problematic and duplicate fonts firstly we need to launch font book which is in your Applications folder then select all fonts as you can see next is some of them there is a yellow warning symbol by clicking on the font in question we can see that in this instance there are duplicate copies of the installed font now again check the integrity of all the fonts installed on this computer select all the fonts then go to file validate fonts in this case there were 26 fonts with issues if we change the viewing option to warnings or errors it shows which fonts are problematic and the Associated reason in most of these cases they are due to duplicate installations I would like to remove all the problematic fonts so Im going to check select all fonts and then hit remove checks whilst I removed all the fonts displaying an issue you could have gone through manually and I only checked and remove certain

Ill be happy to help you out today. Press the Windows key type in Regedit and hit enter. Go to. HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Fonts. Delete the affected Font File Names from the list of files. Restart PC.
(Command sudo find / -name *noto* is your friend). To get the package owning a special font use: sudo dpkg-query -S To remove all noto font use: sudo dpkg --list |awk /fonts-noto/{print $2} | sudo xargs dpkg --remove.
In Windows 10, search for fonts and go to Fonts - System Settings font name Uninstall. In Windows 8 or 7, go to Fonts - Control Panel font name File Delete.
To remove glyphs from the font, in the Font window or Font Map panel: Select the glyphs that you want to remove. Select the Delete command from the Edit menu or press the Backspace (or Del ) key on the keyboard. A dialog box appears asking you if you are sure that you want to delete the glyphs.
How do you delete system-protected fonts? Go into registry and have key point to a new font with the same name. Go into the fontsubstitutes key and have Arial point to Helvetica. Do the same but in the 64-bit section in the registry key. Use elevated command prompt and delete. Go into safe mode and do the above.
If you receive the error message cant delete font because its in use you can fix the problem by unchecking the details pane in the fonts folder of the control panel. If that doesnt work you will need to go into the Registry Editor and delete the font file directly.
Remove fonts that you dont use In Control Panel, type Fonts in the search box at the top right. Under Fonts, click Preview, delete, or show and hide fonts. Select the font that you want to remove, and then click Delete.
Once theyve been installed, compressed files in your Downloads folder can be deleted if you want to. You can verify if they have been installed in Settings Personalization Fonts. Was this reply helpful?
