Booking rules are custom JavaScript methods that will be executed prior to the bookable resource booking record being created or edited.
Go to Resource Scheduling Administration Enable Resource Scheduling for Entities. Verify that work orders are enabled for resource scheduling. For more information, go to Enable an entity for scheduling in Dynamics 365 Field Service. Administrators decide which entities can be scheduled to resources.
Status is the overall state of the entity which the system uses to determine what form type to open when opening the record (e.g., Create, Update, Read-Only). Status Reason is a sub-category of Status to give the user more detail on what may have caused the entity to get to the current state.
From the main menu, go to Resources Booking Settings, and then choose Booking Statuses. Select +New on the Active Booking Statuses screen. Fill in your information. Choose a custom Status Color value in the Common tab to specify which color the resource schedule time slot will be displayed on the schedule board.
When a work order is created, it has a status of Open-Unscheduled by default. Once the work order is scheduled, the booking created for it has a booking status of Scheduled by default. The creation of a booking automatically changes the work order system status to Open-Scheduled.
Work order lifecycle Schedule: The work order is scheduled. Dispatch: The work order is dispatched. Service: The work order is performed and details are updated. Review/Approval: The work order is reviewed and approved by a supervisor.
In Dynamics 365 Customer Service, there are two fields in the Case entity (record type) that work together to provide information about case status: the Status field and the Status Reason field. The Status field for the Case entity has three possible values: Active, Resolved, or Canceled.
