Move custom fields to the trash before permanently deleting them from your Jira site Select Issues. Under FIELDS, select Custom fields. Find the field you want to remove and select Actions () Move to trash.
Remove a field from a folder, project, or space Navigate to the relevant folder, project, or space. Open the custom field management panel. In the list, right-click the custom field. Select Remove from this folder/project.
Learn how to delete a custom field from your project. Navigate to your project. In the top-right, click to open the menu. In the menu, click Settings to access the project settings. Click the name of the custom field you want to delete. Next to the fields name, click to open the menu. Click Delete field.
Click the trash can icon next to the field you want to delete.
As it stands, its currently not possible to hide custom fields from the task pane. The only way to remove the field from the task pane would be by removing the field from the project.
From the management settings for the fields object, go to Fields. Click Del next to the name of the field. When prompted, select the Yes, I want to delete the custom field checkbox to confirm, and click Delete.
