if you insert a pivot table and then some of the categories you have on rows on columns or filters will disappear from your source table you might experience a problem that all of the categories fields still contain the removed element even when you refresh it this is either visible on a slicer but it is visible also in the field settings of the category if you show items with no data is it possible to remove those elements first the slicer yes its possible to find the slicer settings and in here you have the check mark show items deleted from the data source if you remove it dc category will disappear you can also find exactly the same property for the whole pivot table options on the data tab where you can find number of items to retain per field if they are deleted from the data source if you choose none and hit ok and refresh the pivot table this category will no longer be stored in a pivot table

Enabling field history tracking For standard objects (e.g. Lead, Account, Contact, etc), click Set History Tracking when viewing Fields Relationships for a given object in Object Manager. On the next screen select Enable {ObjectName} History and then select the field you want to track.
Field history tracking can be deleted using Data Loader or any other API tool. To get started: Navigate to Setup and type user interface into the Quick Find box. Click on User Interface and select Enable Delete from Field History and Delete from Field History Archive User Permissions.
