[Music] hi in this episode Im going to show you some alternative ways to delete fields or columns from an attribute table here I have a point layer with a lot of points it takes quite some time to read the table at this stage its safe to abort the table from loading lets say I want to remove the category field from the table in order to do this I switch to edit mode down click delete field then I select the fields I want to delete and click OK now I need to wait I also need to close the edit session which will also take a lot of time you lets see if we can beat that time with a copy of the original point later this time I closed the attribute table and open the layer properties to the fields tab here I can switch to edit mode and select the fields I want to delete and simply press the delete fields button thats it close the Edit session and save your edits there are other ways to delete fields for instance you can do it with a Python processing script I leave a link to my script
