QuickBooks Desktop for Windows Go to the Lists menu and select Item List. Double-click any item on the list to open and edit it. Select Custom Fields. Name your custom field in the Label column. In the Use column, select the checkbox to turn on the custom field. Select OK to save the custom field.
To add or remove fields, change the color scheme, or turn on payments on invoices, select Manage ⚙. In the side panel, select Estimate settings or Invoice settings. Heres how: Go to List Templates. Click the Templates drop-down menu located at the bottom or press Ctrl + N on your keyboard. Choose New. In the Select Template Type window, select Invoice and then click OK. Click the Layout Designer button in the Basic Information window and add the new columns.
Create custom fields Go to Settings ⚙. Select Add custom field. Give your custom field a name. Select the type of data that will go in your custom field: Text and number, Number only, Date, or Dropdown list. Select the category the custom field belongs to: Customer, Transaction, or Vendor.
Heres how: Click the Gear Icon. Select Custom From Styles. From the New Style drop-down, choose Invoice. Select Content. On the right side option, select the third pencil icon. In the Add footer text box, type-in the information you want to add on the invoice. Click Done to apply the changes.
How do you remove a data field from a template? Tick on List at the top menu bar. Press on Templates. Choose the template that contains the customization and right-click on it. Select on Delete Template.
Navigate to Gear icon More Settings Preferences Invoice. Go to Custom Fields and select + New Custom Field. In the Custom Field dialog box next, enter the Label Name, Data Type and select if it has to appear in all the PDF and click on Save.
Delete an item Go to Lists, and select Item List (for Windows) or Items (for Mac). Select the item you want to delete. Go to Edit, and select Delete Item.
