Pop out the dent with a hair dryer and compressed air The combination of heat and pressure you can get from a hair dryer and compressed air may cause dents to pop out. Start by heating the car dent with the hair dryer set at the highest temperature. This will expand the dent and make it more pliable.
Yes, it can help remove dents from both metal and plastic bumpers. Fill a pot with water and bring it to a rolling boil. Carefully pour the water over the surface of the dent to heat up the metal. Allow the metal to flex and return to its original shape.
Heat the dented area of your vehicle with a hair dryer at the highest setting possible. Get it as hot as possible and then use a can of compressed air to blow on the dent. The cold air will contract the plastic and allow the dent to pop out on its own.
Put the plunger over the indented area and pull straight out. Your dent should pop right out. If you're working on a bumper, you can also reach behind the dented surface to push the dent out. Repeat as needed until the dented area is flattened out.
To remove a dent from your bumper, you need to make it more malleable. This can be accomplished by dousing the dent with hot water. Heat water to boiling in a pot or big tea kettle and pour it over the dent. Wearing gloves to protect your hands, quickly reach behind the bumper and push out the dent.
Large Dents in Plastic Using the heat gun/blow dryer, heat up the dent. After it's warm to the touch, attach the suction dent puller. Pull the dent out with the puller's handle. You may need to heat the area up again to completely pull out the dent.
You'll need a pot of very hot water and a simple plunger. Pour the hot water over the dented surface of the car. This softens the material. Put the plunger over the indented area and pull straight out.
If your dent is in a plastic surface like a front or rear bumper cover and you can get to its inside surface, you can pour boiling water over the area to soften it up, then push the dent out from the inside.
First, heat the dent with the hairdryer approximately six inches away for about 30 seconds. Then cover the dent with a piece of aluminum foil and rub dry ice over it. The rapid change from hot to cold should make the dent pop out within a minute or so.
Will the Dent Pop Out on Its Own? No, a dent will not pop out on its own. In some very rare cases, extreme heat can affect the shape of a dent, but generally, once the dent is there, it is permanent.
