Dents may also result in paint damage. While it might not look too bad at first, exposure to harsh weather, car washes, and general wear and tear will cause the paint to deteriorate by cracking, flaking, and peeling. If you don't fix a dent quickly, you might end up needing a complete paint job or wrap.
Pop out the dent with a hair dryer and compressed air This will expand the dent and make it more pliable. When the car is hot to the touch, immediately spray the dented area with a can of compressed air. The cold air coming from the can will cause the area to contract. This should make the dent pop out.
As a general rule, dents smaller than a quarter without any paint damage are acceptable. Anything else and the leasing company will charge you for the cost of the repair. It is in your best interest to not take any chances when it comes to dents on your lease car.
First, heat the dent with the hairdryer approximately six inches away for about 30 seconds. Then cover the dent with a piece of aluminum foil and rub dry ice over it. The rapid change from hot to cold should make the dent pop out within a minute or so.
When you lease a vehicle, the lessor can charge you for “excessive” wear and tear. Minor things like scratches smaller than a quarter on the exterior may not incur any extra costs and they're likely to fall within normal wear and tear. Anything bigger probably means paying more cash out of pocket when you return it.
The rule of thumb on scratches is simple: If you can cover it up with a standard credit card, you probably won't be charged. There's a smaller threshold for curbed wheels, but automakers will still allow small amounts of damage before billing you.
If the inspection finds any aftermarket modifications to the vehicle, the lessor will request you remove any modifications, or there will be a fee that can be costly. Any damage to the car, like scratches and dings or a damaged interior will also be noted during the inspection and potentially result in fees.

Even though fair wear and tear is allowed by leasing companies, including tiny scratches and small stone chips caused by regular use, if your car's in poor condition you'll be charged to repair any damage.
The dent repair cost may range from $50 to $2,500. Although that's a broad range, most small dents that are roughly an inch in size may cost around $50 to $125. Small indentations may come from a flying rock or piece of hail. Dents stemming from a collision are typically larger and cost $150 or more.
