Since it is on your car door, youre most likely dealing with a metal dent. Heat the dented area with your hairdryer and attach the dent puller when the area is warm. Pull the dent per the instructions with your dent puller and when the dent has been reduced switch to your dent pulling kit.
The dent repair cost may range from $50 to $2,500. Although thats a broad range, most small dents that are roughly an inch in size may cost around $50 to $125. Small indentations may come from a flying rock or piece of hail. Dents stemming from a collision are typically larger and cost $150 or more.
They can improve the appearance of dents but probably wont create a perfect finish. But these tools will not work on deep, angular dents or damage along the edges of bodywork. Dents in areas of thick metal will also be very difficult to remove at home.
First, heat the dent with the hairdryer approximately six inches away for about 30 seconds. Then cover the dent with a piece of aluminum foil and rub dry ice over it. The rapid change from hot to cold should make the dent pop out within a minute or so. Another temperature trick involves boiling water.

Not all dents can or should be suctioned out. If the dent is large, the suction method may not work. Additionally, if there are any cracks in the panel, the entire panel should be replaced, rather than having the dent removed.
Small dents may cost $100 or less to fix. At this price, it can be a good idea to get it fixed if youre bothered by the dents appearance or want to sell your car. But, doing it yourself may cause paint damage. Plus, even a repaired dent can result in rust down the road.
A rapid change in temperature can lead to dent removal. The simplest way to fix a dent through this method is by heating the dented area with a hair dryer before immediately cooling it by spraying with a can of compressed air. Cold air will cause it to contract and the dent should pop out.
Unless the dent or scrape is very minor (and therefore very cheap to fix), older and less-valuable vehicles probably wont gain much value from a repair. Youre often better off just keeping your money and living with the scrape and the knowledge that your car is a little less perfect than it was yesterday.
Minor dents with a diameter ranging from 3 to 5 inches can be fixed using PDR. Even the more minor door dents and dings with sizes of 2 inches or less and medium dents of 5 to 10 inches long are possible to repair.
