Pop out the dent with a hair dryer and compressed air This will expand the dent and make it more pliable. When the car is hot to the touch, immediately spray the dented area with a can of compressed air. The cold air coming from the can will cause the area to contract. This should make the dent pop out.
The step-by-step Using your drill, make two holes of ⅛ inches in width in the dented area of the siding. Fit a sheet metal screw with a flat washer and then screw it halfway into one of the holes drilled. Use your pair of pliers to pull out the screw, which should pull the dent out with it, popping it back into place.
First, heat the dent with the hairdryer approximately six inches away for about 30 seconds. Then cover the dent with a piece of aluminum foil and rub dry ice over it. The rapid change from hot to cold should make the dent pop out within a minute or so. Another temperature trick involves boiling water.
Will this dent removal technique work on all surfaces? Unfortunately, this technique can be used only on plastics, which can be reshaped by using heat. Metal does not respond in the same way to heat as plastic does. So, do NOT attempt to fix metal dents with boiling hot water.
One of the best ways to fix dents in woodworking projects or furniture is to use heat and steam. Apply a few drops of water to the dent and then apply heat using a scrap of cloth and an iron.
