hi my name is Justin Conway Im an excel expert Im going to show you how to remove a date autofill in Microsoft Excel theres an easy way to do this hopefully you dont already have your dates inputted or Im sorry your numbers inputted because the easiest way to do it is to make sure that the cells dont compute the the date to begin with and to do that lets say youre going to have in this example we have a new worksheet we want the entire first column to be numbers that are going to look sort of like this lets have a 5 - 12 - something like that and that looks like a date but maybe thats a some sort of part number for you or something like that in in Excel the way its set up if you hit enter now it would it would normally turn to a date but the reason it didnt is because if you go into if you right click go to format cells you can see that this the cell is actually in the format of text and you can read the description its going to display text exactly as it appears without c

Excel conditional formatting for dates (built-in rules) To apply the formatting, you simply go to the Home tab Conditional Formatting Highlight Cell Rules and select A Date Occurring. Select one of the date options from the drop-down list in the left-hand part of the window, ranging from last month to next month.
Highlight Expired and Close-to-Expiry Dates Select the date cells. Go to the Home tab Styles group Conditional Formatting button New Rule. Choose the last Rule Type in the dialog box and set the format for the highlight cells (light red in our case).
Highlight today Select the cells or rows you want to highlight. Click the Home tab and then click Conditional Formatting in the Styles group and choose Highlight Cells Rules. Choose A Date Occurring. In the resulting dialog, choose Today from the first dropdown and then choose Light Red Fill from the second (Figure A).
Highlight Dates Within 30 or 60 or 90 Days Before Today Select the cells that have the dates. Click the Home tab. Click on the Conditional Formatting icon. Go to the Highlight Cell Rules option. Click on the Between option. This will open the Between dialog box.
Check for Dates 30 Days Past Due Select Home Conditional Formatting New Rule to open the New Formatting Rule dialog box. Choose Use a formula to determine which cells to format. This formula checks to see if the dates in cells C1 to C4 are more than 30 days past. Select Format to open the Format Cells dialog box.
To apply conditional formatting to cells that have an overdue date in Excel, you can use the New Rule option under the Conditional Formatting dropdown menu within the Home tab.
To apply the formatting, you simply go to the Home tab Conditional Formatting Highlight Cell Rules and select A Date Occurring. Select one of the date options from the drop-down list in the left-hand part of the window, ranging from last month to next month.
