I just finish of how to do some day transformation using power query now you may be familiar with some of the functions in Excel where we can plot some date information lets say for example we have a column of dates here we wanted to pull out the year there is a function called year that will pull out that particular information say 2010 and theres also functions that pull out days day of the month weeks and whatnot but theres also that capability that we have in power query and where this becomes helpful is if this is something where we do on recurring basis or we wanted to give this to somebody and just have them do it as a one-stop thing where they can just press one button to refresh everything if they have tables that are referencing other links and it just makes it a little bit easier now of course in Excel theres many different ways to do the similar thing and power query is just another way where we can transform data using the capabilities inside of it Excel 2016 has power

Sometimes in a Word Mail Merge the dates do not come out as Day/Month/Year regardless of how you enter it in your data (usually an Excel spreadsheet). To fix this you need a workaround in Word. Essentially you need to add a code to tell Word what format you want it to show.
Remove formatting from a date, time, or number Double-click the date picker, text box, or expression box whose formatting you want to remove. In the Control Properties dialog box, do one of the following: Click Format. In the Format dialog box, click None (display XML value).
To change from the field code to the merge field, or vice versa, in a Microsoft Word document: Press ALT + F9 to toggle Field Codes on/off.
Method 2 In Excel, select the column that contains the ZIP Code/Postal Code field. On the Home tab, go to the Cells group. Then, select Format, and then select Format Cells. Select Number tab. Under Category, select Text, and then select OK. Save the data source. Then, continue with the mail merge operation in Word.
To format a date merge field, use the \@ switches. For example, to display a date field as 03/30/2010, the merge field should be defined as { MERGEFIELD myObject. myField \@ MM/dd/yyyy} .
Cancel a merge Click Mailings tab Select Recipients, and then click Cancel Merge. When asked if you want to cancel the merge, click Yes. Note: If you cancel a mail merge, fields other than Address Fields, Greeting Lines, and Address Blocks are converted to regular text.
Answer: On the Office ribbon, select the Insert tab. Under the Text group, click Quick Parts, Field. Under the Categories box, click Date and Time. In the Field names box, select CreateDate, PrintDate, or SaveDate. Select the date and time format that you want in the Date formats box. Click OK when ready.
Open the merge template document in Word and press Alt+F9 (for a PC) or Option+F9 (for a Mac) to reveal the merge field codes. Locate the date field for which youd like to change the format. After the current merge field text, enter \@ followed by the desired display format in quotation marks.
How to change format of the current date and time in Word mail merge Select the Date or Time field the format of which you want to change. Press Shift + F9 to display the field coding, which may look something like { DATE \@ M/d/yyyy } Right-click the selected field and choose Edit Field from the context menu.
