welcome to Excel campus my name is John and in this video Im going to explain how to fix errors with dates in power query and were gonna look at four different ways to do this including using the locale and regional settings and even a custom column so here Im in the power query editor and I have some data loaded in here and this date column and we can see that data type is currently txt now if I try and change this to a date datatype were going to get some errors here and thats because the data form or the date format here is in a different format than my local regional settings so Im in the US and we use the format of month/day/year and if we undo this or just delete that change step we can see that these dates are in the day month year format so not month day year but day month year which is basically what the rest of the world uses outside of the United States so theres a few different ways to fix this the first way is using the locale settings in the data type menu again if
