Once deleted the invoice status shows as Void. For auditing purposes you cannot re-use the invoice number. unpaid or a draft, then delete as required. paid invoices, then remove the link to the payment or credit note before deleting it.
To void the invoice: Go to Sales and select the check box next to the relevant invoice. On the action toolbar, click Delete.
You can remove invoices and credit notes that youve finished with from Sage 200. Once invoices / credit notes have been updated and posted to the customers account, and you no long need to print a physical copy, then you can consider whether to delete them.
Delete a purchase invoice Paid - unallocate the payment first to remove the payment from the invoice. Paid with a credit note- unallocate the credit note first to remove the link to the credit note. Included on a VAT return - you cannot delete the invoice. Reverse the invoice value with a credit note instead.
Once deleted, the invoice cannot be retrieved and this amount will not be reflected in the Net Revenue of the organization. If Payments or Credits have been recorded for the invoice, you have to first delete the payments and credits applied to them and then delete the invoice.
Hence, it is not recommended to delete the invoice. Instead you can void the invoice. Voiding an invoice will not remove it from the organization.
Void - If there was an error in a customer invoice and if you do not want to delete it, you can simply void it. Voided invoice will not be removed from the organization, hence it will not affect the invoice numbering sequence. Also, the customer cannot make payment for a voided invoice.
From Purchases, select Purchase Invoices. Select the check box next to the relevant invoice. Choose Delete, from the toolbar.
