Heres how: Go to File Explorer. Select one or more files in Windows Explorer. Right-click select Properties from the contextual menu. Go to the Details tab click Remove Properties and Personal Information to open the Remove Properties dialog.
Click Inspect Document. Click Inspect. The Document Inspector will scan your file for personal information. Click Remove All if Document Inspector finds personal information in your file. Now click Close then save your document.
Right-click, then click Toggle Field Codes. Press CTRL+SHIFT+F9 on your keyboard. This will remove the field codes, replacing them with the text they contained.
Note: Excel does not remove personal information from shared workbooks. On the Excel menu, click Preferences. Under Sharing and Privacy, click Security . Select the Remove personal information from this file on save check box. Save the workbook. Notes: The following personal information is removed from your file:
Select the content you want Word to check for metadata. Generally, most want to remove personal information. If Word finds metadata, it will prompt you to Remove All. Once you click Remove All, it cannot be undone.
Identifying and Removing Metadata Right-click on the file. View its Properties. If there is metadata that you would like to remove, select the Details tab. Click Remove Properties and Personal Information.
Go to Preferences. Click on Security. Select Remove personally identifiable information from the file on save and Warn before printing, saving or sending a document that contains tracked changes or comments.
Method 2: Inspect Document for Hidden Texts Next click Check for Issues and choose Inspect Document. In Document Inspector window, click Inspect. Then in Hidden Text section, click Remove All.
Heres how. To reveal the formatting symbols, go to the ribbon and select Home. In the Paragraph group, select Show/Hide (the icon looks like a paragraph mark). The formatting symbols appear in the document and each symbol is represented by a specific mark: To hide the formatting symbols, select Show/Hide.
Remove personal information for a PDF Right click the PDF, select Open with and then Google Chrome. Select the printing symbol in the upper right corner of the tab that opened in Google Chrome. Set Destination to Save as PDF and click Save. The PDF that you now saved will not contain any personal information.
