hey i have this medical collection on my credit report and its bringing my score down how do i get rid of it i got you theres three steps you need to follow first use a letter like this one to dispute the collection with the credit bureaus if they verify it then move on to step two demand validation with the debt collections the agency using a letter like this one if they arent able to verify it you got your deletion on the other hand if they verify it thats where it gets fun see debt collection agencies arent supposed to have access to the specifics of your medical or health information so if they respond with that information theyre in big trouble so just send a letter like this one right here and because theyre in violation with hipaa laws theyll have to delete it wow this is so genius where did you learn this i follow credit repair cloud

April 12, 2023 - Three major credit bureaus are giving consumers a break when it comes to medical debt. Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion jointly announced yesterday that any medical debt collection with an initial reported balance of under $500 has been removed from US consumer credit reports.
Paid medical debts were removed from credit reports in July 2022. Previously, medical bills that went to collections could blemish credit reports even after the debt was paid off.
Last year, President Biden introduced a series of medical reforms to help ease the burden of medical debt. The first phase kicked in last summer, any medical debt that was paid off was removed by the three major credit bureaus.
Credit reports will exclude medical debt collections under $500. Starting January 1, 2023, the consumer credit-reporting bureaus Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion will no longer add medical debt less than $500 to credit reports. Amounts of $500 or more may still show up and can impact your credit score.
The credit-reporting firms Equifax, Experian and TransUnion say consumer credit reports will no longer include medical debt that was paid after it was sent to collections. The changes took effect July 1, 2022.
On April 11, 2023, Equifax, Experian and TransUnion announced that any medical collection debt below $500 will no longer be included on credit reports, regardless of whether the debt has been paid. Most medical collection debt on credit reports is under $500, ing to the CFPB (PDF).
