What happens after a CoS is assigned?

As soon as the CoS is assigned, the SMS immediately generates a unique code, known as a CoS number which the employer should pass to the migrant worker. The worker will be prompted for the CoS number when they complete their application for a Skilled Worker visa.

Who pays the certificate of sponsorship fee?

The following costs must be paid by the employer: Sponsor licence application fee (and renewal fee) Immigration Skills Charge. Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) fee.

How do I withdraw my CoS application?

From the Apply for defined CoS screen, select View applications that are awaiting a decision. To withdraw an application: From the Applications that are awaiting a decision screen, select Withdraw next to the appropriate application.

Can I cancel my sponsorship of a visa?

Your employer, a sponsor or family member cannot cancel your visa. However, a person with parental responsibility can request us to cancel the visa of a person under 18 years old.

Can I edit my UK visa application after submission?

If you want to change something in your application after youve sent it contact UK Visas and Immigration ( UKVI ). You can ask to cancel your application. Your fee will only be refunded if UKVI has not started processing your application.

What happens if CoS is Cancelled?

If you are already in the UK and your sponsor loses their licence, your CoS will be cancelled and your visa will be limited to 60 days (or however long you have left on the visa if its less than 60 days). You will have to leave your job and leave the UK unless you make a new visa application within that time.

Can you cancel certificate of sponsorship?

The sponsor must then cancel your live Certificate within five days of receiving your request. If the employer does not do this you must send a reminder, after which they have another five days to cancel the CoS.

What happens if you break sponsorship?

The government cannot remove you just because you leave your sponsor. Your sponsor may threaten you and insist that he will take away his sponsorship, but this is not true. Note: If your relationship breaks down, you cannot lose your status just because you leave your sponsor.
