hi everyone Aaron here for Zolo Tech and I wanted to show you how to format your Mac or reset it back to factory default so its just like it was when you bought it for the first time this will enable you to either sell it or return it or whatever you need to do so the first thing we need to do is go in and disable a few things or sign out of a few things so lets do that now now the first step were going to do is the authorize it from itunes or sign out from iTunes so we need to go into iTunes go to account and then sign out now after youve done that and youve signed out of that now you need to do the exact same thing for messages no messages has the account settings up here preferences and then youll get to accounts and then you need to sign out of here as well now once youre signed out of that you need to sign out of iCloud so thats what well do next thats under your system preferences and under system preferences find iCloud now the same thing goes here you want to sign ou

From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose System Settings. Click General in the sidebar. Click Transfer or Reset on the right. Click Erase All Content and Settings.
Press down Command + A to select all file folders in the cache folder and drag them to Trash. If you dont want to delete all of them, you can also choose caches of certain apps and move them to Trash. Remove all the cache files from Trash to completely clean up them from your Mac.
Delete files in your Downloads folder. Open this folder from the Dock, or by choosing Go Downloads from the menu bar in the Finder. If you use the Mail app for your email, choose Mailbox Erase Junk Mail from the menu bar in Mail. Also choose Mailbox Erase Deleted Items.
How to clean up other storage on Mac Remove documents. Clean up system and temporary files. Delete cache files. Remove app plug-ins and extensions. Remove Time Machine backups and snapshots. Clear disk images and archives. Get rid of everything else from Other disk space. Remove application logs and support files.
So, to clean system log files on your Mac, do the following: Open Finder. From the Go menu, select Go to folder. Type /var/log in the field and press Return. You will see all the system log files. Select the files you want to remove and drag them to Trash.
Open Start on Windows 10. Search for Command Prompt, right-click the top result, and select the Run as administrator option. In the command, make sure to update the path to the folder you want to delete. In the command, we use the /f option to force the deletion of read-only files.
If an item is locked, you need to confirm you want to move it to the Trash, or unlock the item before putting it in the Trash. To unlock the item first, select it, choose File Get Info (or press Command-I), then deselect the Locked checkbox.
Click the Apple () symbol in the menu bar and select System Preferences. When the preferences pane appears, select System Preferences - Erase All Content and Settings from the menu bar.
To permanently delete files from the Mac, youll need to empty your Trash Can. To do this, simply click the Trash Can (or Bin) icon in your Dock. Here, you can review or restore files in your Trash/Bin. To permanently delete all the files in your bin, click Empty.
So, to clean system log files on your Mac, do the following: Open Finder. From the Go menu, select Go to folder. Type /var/log in the field and press Return. You will see all the system log files. Select the files you want to remove and drag them to Trash.
