In this video you are going to learn how to remove comments in Word and you are also going to learn how to keep the comments but only hide them. If you want to remove only a single comment, click on the comment you want to delete, go to the Review tab and in the section Comments click on delete. If you have multiple comments and you want to remove all comments at once, click on the dropdown arrow under the delete button and then click on Delete all comments in Document. If you dont want to delete the comments but rather hide them, then go to the section called Tracking and in the dropdown menu choose Original. To delete a single comment in the document, right-click the comment, and choose Delete Comment. To delete all the comments in the document, go to the Review tab, click the down-arrow on Delete, and choose Delete All Comments in Document.
To make reviewer names stay for future comments, go to File Options Trust Center Trust Center Settings Privacy Options and clear the check box for Remove personal information from file properties on save.
Open the Document and select the File tab. Thereafter, click Options to open Word Options in the dialog box. Select Trust Center Settings on the right to open the Trust Center dialog box. Clear the Remove Personal Information from the File Properties.
If Track Changes identifies you as Author instead of your username when you are inserting comments and edits, this means someone has used the Document Inspector to remove hidden data from the document.
Making Sure Changes and Comments are Anonymous Click the Office button. At the left side of the screen choose Prepare | Inspect Document. Make sure all the available check boxes are selected. Click Inspect. Use the controls in the dialog box to get rid of any identifying information. Click the Close button when done.
Click the Review tab and click Next in the Comments group to advance to the next comment. To remove a comment, click Delete in the Comments group. You can also click the arrow below Delete and click Delete or Delete All Comments in Document.
You can delete a comment by selecting Delete thread under the More thread actions drop down menu, which can be found in the top right hand corner of the comment.
From the Word Preferences dialog box, select User Information under the Personal Settings heading. Delete all the personal information that is displayed, click OK, then save your document.
