Removing a Semicolon (;) in a CSV File Change the decimal separator to dot (.) in regional settings within the operating system. Open the CSV file in Notepad and replace all the semicolons with a comma with the find all and replace function. Once saved, try the import again.
On the Home tab, click the Dialog Box Launcher next to Number. On the Number tab, in the Category list, click Number. To display or hide the thousands separator, select or clear the Use 1000 Separator (,) check box.
Open your CSV using a text editor. Press Enter/Return to create a new line at the very top, and add sep=; if the separator used in the CSV is a semicolon (;), or sep=, if the separator is a comma (,). Save your changes (command + S or control + S), then re-open in any Spreadsheet app.
Re: Handling comma in the data while writing to a CSV. So for data fields that contain a comma, you should just be able to wrap them in a double quote. Fields containing line breaks (CRLF), double quotes, and commas should be enclosed in double-quotes.
Using Find and Replace Select the dataset. Click the Home tab. In the Editing group, click on the Find Replace option. Click on Replace. This will open the Find and Replace dialog box. In the Find what: field, enter , (a comma) Leave the Replace with: field empty. Click on Replace All button.
Select your column (e.g. left click on A, B, or C) Right-click on column and select Format Columns. Under Number tab, uncheck Use 1000 Separator (,)
Using the From Text feature in Excel Click the Data tab, then From Text. Select the CSV file that has the data clustered into one column. Select Delimited, then make sure the File Origin is Unicode UTF-8. Select Comma (this is Affinitys default list separator).
A simpler solution is to import the file into Microsoft Excel and then save it as plain Unicode text, which removes the comma delimiters but renders a readable text file that you can use in a word-processing application.
We can use accounting Excel format in the Number format ribbon, select the amount cell, click on ribbon home, and select the Comma Style from the Number format column. Once we click on the Comma Style, it will provide the comma-separated format value.
