Then you click on the line of the circle. If it gets selected, you have the proof, and you can delete it.
It is a non-breaking space. It will keep the words on both sides of the character on the same line. You can insert a non-breaking space from Insert Symbol More Symbols Special Characters, or by pressing Option+Space. Was this reply helpful?

In the Microsoft Words vocabulary there circles are called non-breaking spaces (or Nonbreaking Spaces) and, fortunately, it is easy to use find/replace to get rid of them all at once!
Tap the devices icon in the upper right hand of the parent app. Find the device and tap on its name. Tap Remove from Circle and confirm (repeat the process if your device is listed more than once)
With the Edit Content tool active, click on the object that you would like to delete. Click on the delete key on your keyboard. OR. Right-click (mac: ctrl + click) and choose remove.
