Once you grade the submission, the students assignment indicator changes to a check mark, indicating the submission has been graded. You can view the next students submission by clicking the arrow button next to the student list.
On the Student work page, you see the number and names of students grouped by work status: AssignedWork that students have to turn in, including missing or unsubmitted work. Turned inWork that students turned in. GradedGraded work youve returned. ReturnedUngraded (non-graded) work youve returned.
As a teacher, you can easily check if the students have opened an assignment yet or not via the activity dashboard within the Google Docs or Sheet and check the viewers who have seen the assignment. Additionally, it also reflects the time when the assignment was viewed last.
When youre using Google Classroom simultaneously with your teacher, they wont even be able to see if youre online. Also, teachers using Google Classroom cant see your screen. In fact, teachers have extremely limited access to student information in Google Classroom.
You can also flag the mark as either Missing or Excused. Missing (yes) means the assignment is missing and it will show in the missing assignments report under the reports tab in the GradeBook. Excused (yes) means it will not affect the overall grade.
At the top, click To-do and choose an option: To see work assigned by your teacher, click Assigned. To see work that you didnt turn in, click Missing. To see work that your teacher graded or returned, click Done.
3. Inserting a check mark using Insert special characters Position the cursor in the document where you want to insert a check mark. Click Insert in the menu. Click Special characters. In the Search box, type check mark. Click the check mark you want to use. Click Close (X on the top right of the dialog box).
If you have a checkmark, that just means the work is in your possession, that they turned it in. They would have to Unsubmit the work or you would have to Return it in order for them to have possession of their work ie document again. If they turn in blank work, you will need to Return the work.
