After you cancel your application It can take up to 28 days to get your refund.
CHANGING THE DETAILS ON A CERTIFICATE OF SPONSORSHIP Examples of acceptable amendments are corrections to a mistyped name or date of birth. If the main details are incorrect, you must cancel the certificate and assign a new one to ensure that the details are the same as the one in the migrants application.
From the Manage live CoS screen, select Withdraw CoS. If you wish to cancel the withdrawal, select Back. From the Withdrawal confirmation screen, select Withdraw CoS. If you wish to cancel the withdrawal, select Cancel.
The sponsor must then cancel your live Certificate within five days of receiving your request. If the employer does not do this you must send a reminder, after which they have another five days to cancel the CoS.
Once a CoS is assigned, if a minor correction needs to be made, you can add a sponsor note. If you notice a serious mistake (e.g. you have entered an incorrect nationality, tier category, name, or date of birth), you may need to withdraw the CoS and create a new one.
If you are already in the UK and your sponsor loses their licence, your CoS will be cancelled and your visa will be limited to 60 days (or however long you have left on the visa if its less than 60 days). You will have to leave your job and leave the UK unless you make a new visa application within that time.
If we withdraw sponsorship of your Student/Tier 4 visa, UK Visas and Immigration will curtail your visa. This means that the end date will be shortened to reflect the fact that you are no longer studying.
CoS with the following statuses cannot be withdrawn: WORK IN PROGRESS; READY TO GO; USED; or EXPIRED. When a CoS is withdrawn it is not returned to your allocation, nor will you be refunded the fee paid when you assigned the CoS. You should read the Sponsorship policy guidance before withdrawing an unused CoS.
