If you collect your pension earlybefore age 59you may not have to pay the early distribution tax if any of the following apply: You choose to take substantially equal periodic payments. You are at least 55 years old when you leave your job. You become disabled.
A pension cannot be transferred to a bank account in the same way it can to a different pension scheme. To place your money into a bank account, you would need to withdraw the funds, and to do so you must be 55 or over and have an eligible scheme.
To opt out, you have to contact the pension scheme provider. They will tell you how to opt out. Your employer will provide you with their contact details. If you opt out within a month of your employer enrolling you, youll get back any money youve already paid in.
