The Department of Defense (DoD) grants up to 60 days for terminal leave. ingly, you can utilize this time to relax, secure housing, or find employment. Often, using transitional leave is the best method for transitioning from military to civilian life.
Terminal leave is just like regular leave except that members arent required to report back to their duty station after completion of the leave. The member can move to their desired location without returning to work.
Leave of Absence for Military Duty means military leave, annual leave, accrued compensatory time, LWOP, or any combination of these, depending on the circumstances and nature of the military duty. Reservists and members of the National Guards are entitled to LWOP, if necessary, to perform military training duties.
