This video will demonstrate how to use foreground suppression mode on Banners new Q4X sensor. Using foreground suppression teach mode, also known as one point window, the Q4X can reliably detect an upside down white bottle cap, only 3.5 mm thick, moving along a white conveyor. Start off by pressing MODE for 2 or more seconds, to enter the sensors menu. Press SELECT to enter the teach menu. Press the + or button to find FGS and press SELECT. As a shortcut, press and hold SELECT to return to run mode. Now, press TEACH for 2 or more seconds to enter teach mode, and present your on condition, in this case, an upside down bottle cap and press TEACH. The sensor now detects any bottle caps that are orientated upside-down. The sensor creates a window, or two switch points, centered around the taught target distance of 53.5 mm. Even in this bright environment, a low contrast, thin target is reliably detected every time.
