this is going to be a really quick video to let you know that a critical vulnerability advisory was released by synology earlier today that impacts all versions of dsm 6 and 7 as well as synologys router manager software an update was released for dsm 7.1 that fixes this issue but all earlier versions are impacted according to this article that was posted on reddit which ill link in the description the afp protocol can be used to execute malicious code with root privileges to protect yourself open the control panel select file services then afp if you have this enabled disable it and save make sure you update to the latest version of dsm which fixes this vulnerability when its released
