Editing the Maximum Grade: Login to Moodle and open your desired course. Under the Administration block on the left side of the screen, click Course Administration | Grades. Open the drop down menu and select Gradebook Setup. Select Edit Settings in the Actions column for the Graded item that needs updating.
About Grade Overrides Overrides are triggered when you manually edit grades for Moodle activities such as Quizzes, Forums, Assignments, or Category totals in the gradebook. Once saved, these items become highlighted in orange and will display Overridden in red text, indicating that the grade is overridden.
Click on the icon for the cell for which you wish to remove the override. On the Edit Grade screen, uncheck the box next to Overridden. Once the override is removed, youll notice you can no longer change the grade.
To access your Gradebook, click on the Gear Icon in the top right of your Moodle page. From the dropdown list, choose Gradebook Setup. Once you are in the Gradebook Setup, find a grade item you wish to delete, then click on the dropdown Edit list to the right of that item. Choose Delete.
Go to Course navigation Grades (and then from the dropdown) Course grade settings. From the Grade display type menu, select real (for actual grades), percentage or letter, or a combination of these. Click the Save changes button.
An override grade takes precedence over all other grade entries, including attempts a student submits after you assign an override grade. For example, a grade is based on the average of multiple assignment attempts. But, you want to add a grade for a certain student that is one other than the average.
You can also apply an exemption before a grade is assigned. If you assigned a grade and then exempted it, the grade remains available on the Grade Details page. You can also exempt a grade on the Grade Details page. Access the cells menu and select Exempt Grade.
