Organize albums into folders In the Albums area in the left pane, click the + icon. Click Create Folder. Lightroom lists the folder in the Albums area. Drag one or more albums under the folder. If necessary, create subfolders and add albums to them.
You have to select or create a folder to store the new catalog in. Usually I have seen that once you create a folder the catalog is created using the same name as the folder name. LR wont store a catalog in the ROOT of a drive. It has to be in a folder.
How do I open or switch between different catalogs? To open a different catalog, choose File Open Catalog, navigate to the location of the catalog you want to open, and click Open. If you have multiple catalogs, you can tell Lightroom Classic which one to open when you start the program.
How To Move A Lightroom Catalog Step 1: Locate And Access Your Lightroom Catalog. Before you can move a Lightroom catalog, you need to find it. Step 2: Select Your Catalog And Move It To A New Location. Step 3: Open The Catalog From Its New Location. Step 4: Confirm Its New Location.
The keyboard combination to Delete Rejected Photos on a Mac is Command + Delete, and on a PC is Control + Backspace. Click whichever is pertinent. Lightroom will ask you to confirm (Figure 2). Click Delete from Disc to permanently delete the images from your computer as well to remove them from your Lightroom Catalog.
A catalog is a database that tracks the location of your photos and information about them. When you edit photos, rate them, add keywords to them, or do anything to photos in Lightroom Classic - all those changes are stored in the catalog.
Locate the folder that contains the catalog and preview files. In Lightroom Classic, choose Edit Catalog Settings (Windows) or Lightroom Classic Catalog Settings (Mac OS). In the Information area of the General panel, click Show to go to the catalog in the Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac OS).
Open the destination catalogue where you want your images to be added TO. Then go to File Import From Another Catalogue and select the catalogue youre taking the images FROM. Once the new window pops up, the procedure is reminiscent of the last method.
As long as your current catalog is working properly and you have several backup copies, older files can certainly be deleted or at least archived.
