In ance with Academic Senate Regulations, the Office of the University Registrar shall enter the grade notation No Grade (or NG) on the students record for a student whose instructor has not yet submitted an appropriate grade (letter grade or P, NP, S, U, I or IP) upon final grade submission.
Grades of NG, I, S, U, and W do not affect grade point averages. Only grades equivalent to or above C will be graded as satisfactory. An NR grade on the grade report indicates that the grade has not been reported by the faculty member. An IP grade indicates a course in progress.
What to include in a student progress report. Be clear and concise. Use language that the student or their parents wont misunderstand. Avoid educator jargon. Point out trends that may lead to future results, good or bad. Use specific examples to support your comments.
Not Reported. This symbol indicates that a students grade was not reported to the Registrars Office by the deadline for reporting grades for the term as published in the online Registration Guide. The grade will be updated as soon as the instructor reports the grade.
If you would like to drop the lowest grade in the category that you are creating, then select Auto Drop Lowest Category Grades and choose how many grades you would like to drop. Select Save and Exit. Select the category that you wish to edit on the top left side of the page (Homework, tests, exams, etc.).
No Grade (NG)
NG isnt a reflection of failure in fact the grade may be passing but under expanded state requirements for school attendance, the student didnt put in enough time in class to receive a grade in it.
