On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Users & Groups in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Click the Info button next to the user or group you want to delete, then click Delete Account. Note: If a user is logged in to this Mac now, you can't select them.
Why can't I delete a user on my Mac? If only one administrator account exists, then you won't be able to delete the user account. You'll either have to create another administrator account first, or upgrade another existing account to have administrator privileges.
Select Start > Settings > Accounts > Family & other users. Under Other users, select the flyout for the account you want to remove. Next to Account and data, select Remove.
Open the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences, unlock it, select that account, and push the - button. If you're using Fast User Switching, you need to log out of the account you want to delete. Click on the padlock at the bottom of the window.
Log out of or remove email accounts in Mail on Mac In the Mail app on your Mac, choose Mail > Settings, then click Accounts. Select an account, then click the Remove button . Note: If the account is used by other apps on your Mac, you're asked to remove the account in Internet Accounts settings.
Run Activity Monitor. In the filter at the top-right, type loginwindow. Click the row with the user's name in the User column. Click Quit Process, then Force Quit, and type your password.
Open the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences, unlock it, select that account, and push the - button. If you're using Fast User Switching, you need to log out of the account you want to delete. Click on the padlock at the bottom of the window.
Select Start > Settings > Accounts . Under Family & other users, select the account owner name (you should see "Local account" below the name), then select Change account type. ... Under Account type, select Administrator, and then select OK. Sign in with the new administrator account.
For users who have an administrator account and a separate user account, you can delete only their administrator account. If the person is leaving your organization, you delete both accounts. Learn more about revoking admin privileges.
