Here are the steps on how to write a new text document in Google Drive: Go to Google Drive. Click the New button. Select Text document. A new text document will be created. Start typing your text. When youre finished, click Save.
Click the Save as or Save Page As option and select Text Files from the Save as Type drop-down menu. Type a name for the text file and click Save. The text from the Web page will be extracted and saved as a text file that can be viewed in text editors and document programs such as Microsoft Word.
Download a file On your computer, open Chrome. Go to the site where you want to download the file. Save the file: If asked, choose where you want to save the file, then click Save. When you begin a download, a Download in progress icon appears on the top right next to the address bar. To open your file, click Open new .
In Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, right-click on the webpage and select Save As. In the Save As dialog box, select Text files from the Save as type drop-down menu. In Internet Explorer, go to File Save As, and select Text files from the Save as type drop-down menu.
Click File Save As. In the Save As dialog box, click the File Type list and select Text Document (*. txt). Specify the location in which to save the text file in Save in, type a new name in the File Name box, and then click Save.

To save the page, image, or document youre viewing: Press Ctrl + s. At the bottom, enter a name for your file. Optional: To the left of the file name, change the file type. In the left column, choose where youd like to save your file, such as Google Drive. My Drive. Select Save.
