While no guide can help you find what situations will work best for you to write, there are steps in the writing process that promote a cleaner, better final draft. The general steps are: discovery\investigation, prewriting, drafting, revising, and editing.
Tracking Menu Turn on Tracking -- puts Final Draft into Track Changes mode. When Track Changes is enabled, this menu item reads Turn Off Tracking. Next Change -- scrolls the script down to the next edit (keyboard shortcut is Command + Option + K on Mac or Ctrl + Alt + K on Windows).
To change the names and colors of Final Drafts revision sets, go to Production Revisions Setup Revision Settings (Windows) or Production Revisions (Mac). Overwrite the date placeholder text with the date you want and make any other changes to the revision sets attributes, including page color.
Turn on Track Changes Go to Review Track Changes. In the Track Changes drop-down list, select one of the following: To track only the changes that you make to the document, select Just Mine. To track changes to the document made by all users, select For Everyone.
How do I remove asterisks (revision marks) from the entire script Go to Edit Select All; Go to Production Clear Revised.
So when you open Final Draft, head up to production. and click revision mode. This turns the script into revision mode. And now everything you type. will cause an asterisk to appear on the side.
0:26 3:09 To enable track changes go to the edit menu then down to the track changes submenu. And select turnMoreTo enable track changes go to the edit menu then down to the track changes submenu. And select turn on tracking. When track changes are on the toolbar button will show as green.
The final draft is what you will submit as your completed paper. By the time you write the final draft, your writing should look polished. Choppy sentences, poor or nonexistent transitions between paragraphs, grammar and spelling errors, and other characteristics of a first draft should all disappear.
