You can see that the syntax of the rollback SQL statement is simple. You just have to write the statement ROLLBACK TRANSACTION, followed by the name of the transaction that you want to rollback.
We can restore any deleted row or multiple rows from the database using the ROLLBACK command. We cannot get the complete table deleted from the database using the ROLLBACK command. We cannot restore all the deleted rows from the database using the ROLLBACK command.
In contrast to an UNDO operation (which creates SQL statements to back out problem transactions) a REDO operation creates SQL statements that you can use to reapply the valid transactions after a recovery action, while omitting the problem transactions defined by your time frame and filter.
ROLLBACK is the SQL command that is used for reverting changes performed by a transaction. When a ROLLBACK command is issued it reverts all the changes since last COMMIT or ROLLBACK.
The redo log is a disk-based data structure used during crash recovery to correct data written by incomplete transactions. During normal operations, the redo log encodes requests to change table data that result from SQL statements or low-level API calls.
Undo is called rollback in SQL. Once youve done a commit , you cant undo it without getting into restoring backups. Note that doing a rollback will undo an entire transaction, which means every update, insert, and delete since the transaction began, which is usually since the last commit or rollback.
Recovering Deleted Data from SQL Table using Transaction Log and LSNs Step 1: Create a Database and Table. Execute the following query to create a new database and a table. Step 2: Take Backups. Step 3: Insert Data into the Table. Step 4: Delete Some Table Data. Step 5: Recover and Restore the Deleted Table Data.
