let me show you how to create an interactive long shadow in photoshop with any layer you can hold ctrl and click on the layer thumbnail to make a selection around it then hold ctrl and click the new layer icon to create a new layer below the active layer then press alt and backspace to fill with the foreground color which is black convert the layer into a smart object to work non-destructively and go into filter blur gallery and choose path blur increase the speed to make the shadow longer and uncheck center blurred then use the arrow to determine the direction of the shadow
