now letamp;#39;s talk about another form of login based recovery called redo login here redo logging implements the no force and no steal strategy for bufferable management in redo logging we have the same type of lock records as undo logging the only difference is thatamp;#39;s for the update block record where instead of storing the previous value for a particular data element we actually store the new value that it is going to write we will see why that is the case in a second the idea behind redo logging is actually very similar to undo login except that at recovery time instead of undoing all the transactions that are incomplete we actually redo the actions of all transactions that were committed instead meanwhile we leave all the uncommitted transactions alone and donamp;#39;t touch them and like undo logging we also have a single rule to buy too when it comes to redo logging if a transaction modifies a data element x then both the update record and the commit record for that

Redo log files are database-internal files and are located in the data area. They are used by the database system during a restart or a restore. Redo log files contain the redo log entries for all the transactions that were not completed at the last savepoint and which the system therefore needs to repeat.
A standby redo log is used to store redo received from another Oracle database. Standby redo logs are structurally identical to redo logs, and are created and managed using the same SQL statements used to create and manage redo logs.
Archive logs are archived redo(online) log files. In redo log files are all changes that happened to your data. If your database is in archivelog mode, than redo logs cant be overwritten, they are archived in some other location when they are full. Redo and archive logs are used in various database recovery scenarios.
UNDO is used to rollback transactions. REDO records changes to the original data, and is important for transactions that are not committed at the time of a crash or failure. REDO is used to roll forward transactions.
The redo log files in SAP HANA are used for database recovery and are managed by the system. You can monitor the status and manage the redo log backups using SAP HANA Studio or SQL commands, but there is no tool provided by SAP HANA for inspecting the content of these files.
Redo is the information Oracle records in online (and archived) redo log files in order to replay your transaction in the event of a failure. Undo is the information Oracle records in the undo segments in order to reverse, or roll back, your transaction.
Redo log files are operating system files used by Oracle to maintain logs of all transactions performed against the database. The primary purpose of these log files is to allow Oracle to recover changes made to the database in the case of a failure.
Whenever something changes in a datafile, Oracle records the change in the redo log. The name redo log indicates its purpose: If the database crashes, the RDBMS can redo (re-process) all changes on datafiles which will take the database data back to the state it was when the last redo record was written.
