To redefine an already existing command, one has to use \renewcommand . The command \providecommand defines the command only if it does not already exist; otherwise, it does not change its meaning.
We add a reference to it using the \ref{} command, which just takes that same text string as an argument, e.g. We can define labels in LaTeX, as we see in section \ref{refsection}, and use these for cross-referencing.
The \pageref command produces the page number of the place in the text where the corresponding \label command appears.
-f or --force : This option will force cp to overwrite any existing files in the destination, even if they cannot be opened or removed. This option will also ignore any -n option that is used before it. For example, cp -f source. txt destination.
How to reproduce Open any TeX file in TeXStudio. Press Ctrl+R or click Edit-Search-Find and replace. Choose any expression, which enters the text many times, as a search expression. Choose any other expression as replacement. Multiply press the red down arrow replace and find next.
LaTeX will not allow you to create a new command that would overwrite an existing one. But there is a special command in case you explicitly want this: \renewcommand . It uses the same syntax as the \newcommand command. In certain cases you might also want to use the \providecommand command.
Commands with no arguments Tell LaTex you are defining a new command by specifying \newcommand name the command (make sure to include the backslash) Specify the output of the new command.
