Photoshop supports undo, step backwards, and history palette options to fix the mistakes and get the previous status of the document. Similarly, we can use the redo operations to get back to the recent undo operations. The undo and redo command takes the most recent actions of the document.
If you need to go back more than one step, use the Step Backward command instead: Choose EditStep Backward or press Option-⌘-Z (Alt+Ctrl+Z). Straight from the factory, this command lets you undo the last 50 things you did, one at a time.
Undo: Moves one step back in the undo chain. Choose Edit Undo or use the keyboard shortcut Control + Z (Win) / Command + Z (Mac). Redo: Moves one step forward. Choose Edit Redo or use the keyboard shortcut Shift + Control + Z (Win) / Shift + Command + Z (Mac).
By default photoshop is set to have just one undo, Ctrl+Z only works once. To change this you need to edit the keyboard shortcuts. Go to Edit/Keyboard Shortcuts. Set Shortcuts For: to Application Menus and open the Edit shortcut list.
Just choose EditUndo or press ⌘-Z (Ctrl+Z). This command lets you undo the very last edit you made. If you need to go back more than one step, use the Step Backward command instead: Choose EditStep Backward or press Option-⌘-Z (Alt+Ctrl+Z).
To redo the most recent action that you undid, press CTRL+Y. To redo several actions, do one of the following: Press CTRL+Y repeatedly until the actions are redone.
To reverse your last action, press CTRL+Z. You can reverse more than one action. To reverse your last Undo, press CTRL+Y.
To undo or redo an operation, Choose Edit Undo or choose Edit Redo. To cancel an operation, hold down the Esc key until the operation in progress has stopped.
