yeah and this really is a great process too because one of the things i havent experimented with much lately or so [Applause] [Music] hi there and welcome back to northlight photographic workshops um today im going to take you on a little bit of a ride and show you a new process that i havent showed you before and ive been talking about it for a little while on my patreon and and uh otherwise and ive been promising to get to it and im finally getting to it is im going to show you how to do some salt printing um now saw printing salted paper printing um was invented by fox talbot back in um uh i think its like 1830s 1839 i think is when they finally used um uh sodium thiosulfate as a fixer fixative um allowing them to allowing him to permanently fix the photographic image in place which basically started everything uh with photographic prints and and i think that the salted printing process was the predominant photographic print method up until perhaps the 1860s or something lik
