The outline view features headers for each section of the document, making it easy and quick to navigate from section to section. The tool utilises manually created headers if present or will intelligently detect the logical divisions within the text. Users can optionally edit or remove these headers as necessary.
You can structure your Google Doc with the document outline feature. The outline detects and lists headings from your text to help organize your document. Open a document in Google Docs. Click View. Show outline. Click the heading you want to go to in the document. Youll move to that place in the document.
Document Outline reflects the order of the headings in your document. If you want the headings to be in a different order in Document Outline, you will need to rearrange them ingly in your document. You cant copy/paste content into Document Outline (as it only mirrors whats in your document).
