An executive summary has six key components. These components are the subject matter, background problem, range of investigation, methods of analysis, findings or issues, and finally the arguments, conclusions, and recommendations.
Most executive summaries include short paragraphs and or bullets and subheadings. Include pictures, graphs, or videos (if its a cloud-based document) to get your point across quickly and easily, without using too much text.
Mistake #1 - Writing Too Much While you want to introduce your project and help capture the attention of reviewers, you do not want to write too much and lose their focus. The general rule of thumb is to keep the executive summary to 10% or less of the total length of your proposal.
