as you create your documents it is inevitable that you will run into times when you need to undo something you previously did lets take a look at how you can undo actions and if necessary redo them [Music] [Applause] [Music] when you take an action in word you can undo that action there are two ways that you can do this a lot of people use the undo button visible at the top of the program window when im working with word though i think the easiest way to undo an action is to press ctrl z on the keyboard for instance lets say that you think that you should add some text right in here if right after typing it you think better of your edition you can press ctrl z and word undoes what you just did all you have to do is hold down the control key and at the same time press the z key and it undoes your action the great thing is that this can work for other actions besides typing as well lets say that you want to make these words bold but then you want to undo that formatting i want to und

If you want to clear an unarchived redo log that is needed to bring an offline tablespace to online, use the unrecoverable datafile clause in the alter database clear logfile statement. If you clear a redo log needed to bring an offline tablespace online, you will not be able to bring the tablespace online again.
Archive logs are archived redo(online) log files. In redo log files are all changes that happened to your data. If your database is in archivelog mode, than redo logs cant be overwritten, they are archived in some other location when they are full. Redo and archive logs are used in various database recovery scenarios.
To create a new group of redo log files, use the SQL statement ALTER DATABASE with the ADD LOGFILE clause. The following statement adds a new group of redo logs to the database: ALTER DATABASE ADD LOGFILE (/oracle/dbs/log1c.
Undo is a version of modified data that is saved before a transaction starts. The generation of undo logs is accompanied by the generation of redo logs, which is similar to the transaction persistence protection mechanism. By default, undo files are kept in shared tablespaces called ibdatafile files.
Redo log files are operating system files used by Oracle to maintain logs of all transactions performed against the database. The primary purpose of these log files is to allow Oracle to recover changes made to the database in the case of a failure.
It is permissible to drop redo log files so that a multiplexed redo log becomes temporarily asymmetric. For example, if you use duplexed groups of redo log files, you can drop one member of one group, even though all other groups have two members each.
The online redo log stores a copy of the changes made to data. If a failure requires a data file to be restored from backup, then the recent data changes that are missing from the restored data file can be obtained from the online redo log files, so work is never lost.
Undo allows you to take back data entry changes by storing a collection of data maintenance actions. Redo lets you restore the change that was undone.
What is Oracle Redo Logs? The Redo Log, which consists of two or more preallocated files that contain all changes made to the database as they occur, is the most essential component for recovery operations. Every Oracle Database instance has a redo log to safeguard the database in the event of an instance failure.
A redo log file might become corrupted while the database is open, and ultimately stop database activity because archiving cannot continue. In this situation the ALTER DATABASE CLEAR LOGFILE statement can be used to reinitialize the file without shutting down the database.
