If the Notepad file is still open, then pressing Ctrl + Y should redo the last action, if you have saved and closed the file, there would be no redo action.
To reverse your last action, press CTRL+Z. You can reverse more than one action. To reverse your last Undo, press CTRL+Y.
Ctrl+O. Create a new document. Ctrl+N. Save the document. Ctrl+S.
The correct answer is Ctrl + Y.

As you already mentioned the standard Windows Notepad doesnt implement a real undo history but rather just a one step mechanism. As such there is no record of what changes you made. In addition, as its just writing normal text files, there is also nothing to be gained by saving the file.
To redo something youve undone, press Ctrl+Y or F4.
The Redo button will only appear after you undo something, until then you will only see the Undo and Repeat buttons. Similar to the Undo command, you also have two ways to perform a redo: Just press the Ctrl + Y or F4 once on your keyboard. For Apple desktop or laptop press Command + Y .
Redo an action To redo something youve undone, press Ctrl+Y or F4.
