Theres a handy feature in Photos where you can now Undo and Redo your edits as youre working on a picture. Heres how it works. Here Ive got a photograph that I took last week in Piccadilly Circus in London. I like this picture, but I want it to pop a little bit more to really accentuate the colours and the rain. So Im going to go into Edit and from here im going to apply a selection of different edits. Ill use the Magic Wand tool first and then perhaps Ill apply a filter as well. Of course I can go and tweak individual things such as the Exposure, the Shadows, the Black Level, even the Vibrancy. Now I dont know about you, but I quite often find that there becomes a point in my editing when suddenly the picture has gone too far and I dont like it anymore! Now the trouble with this is it can be really hard to remember where the slider was positioned before it went too far. Well now with iOS 16 you can use the Undo and Redo buttons in the top corner. Steps to recover a loss of all online redo log files using RMAN Check the member and status of redo log files. SQL> startup. ... Removing online log files physically. [oracle@gg1 onlinelog]$ ls. ... We can see the alert log, ... Shutdown and mount the database. ... Connect to RMAN and recover until the available sequence.
In hot backup mode, the entire block is logged the FIRST TIME. This is because you can get into a situation where the process copying the datafile and DBWR are working on the same block simultaneously.
Database backups created by Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) are stored as image copies or backup sets. Image copies are exact byte-for-byte copies of files. You can create an image copy by copying a file at the operating system level.
This procedure uses BRRESTORE to restore and SQLPLUS to apply offline redo log files, that is, archivelog files....Context Complete database recovery. Database point-in-time (PIT) recovery. Tablespace point-in-time (PIT) recovery. Whole database reset - if you selected an online backup.
A hot backup is used when a full backup is needed and the service level does not allow system downtime for a cold backup. Cold backup—Users cannot modify the database during a cold backup, so the database and the backup copy are always synchronized.
Redo entries record data that you can use to reconstruct all changes made to the database, including the undo segments. Therefore, the redo log also protects rollback data.
The most crucial structure for recovery operations is the redo log, which consists of two or more preallocated files that store all changes made to the database as they occur. Every instance of an Oracle Database has an associated redo log to protect the database in case of an instance failure.
A backup set is an RMAN-specific proprietary format, whereas an image copy is a bit-for-bit copy of a file. By default, RMAN creates backup sets.
You can drop a redo log group only if it is inactive. If you need to drop the current group, first force a log switch to occur. Make sure a redo log group is archived (if archiving is enabled) before dropping it.
UNDO is used to rollback transactions. REDO records changes to the original data, and is important for transactions that are not committed at the time of a crash or failure. REDO is used to roll forward transactions.
